Botswana Open University (BOU) is looking for suitably qualified and duty conscious part-time reviewers/writers and editors to review/write and edit distance education instructional materials for the Diploma and Degree in Integrated Early Childhood Development Programmes (DIECD & BA).

Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• review and write courses and submit to the content editor
• the content editor edits the courses in order to satisfy the quality standards processes set by the University

Qualifications

• PhD in Early Childhood Education
• Candidates must be BOA Accredited as an Assessor/ Moderator
• Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education/ Development
• Masters Degree with components from a diverse background including any of the following

Primary Education

• Music Education
• Educational Research

Reviewers/writers and editors are required for the following courses:

• Child Psychology
• Communication Skills In Teaching
• Diversity And Teaching In Multicultural Class
• Education Teachers & Teaching
• Socio-Education
• Play And Pedagogy
• It Essentials
• Language And Cognitive Development
• Language Proficiency In English
• Curriculum And Pedagogy
• Teaching And Learning In The Digital Age
• Research Methodology In Education
• Teaching Mathematics for Understanding
• The Arts In Early Childhood
• Music And Movement Activities
• Psycho -Pedagogy
• Teaching Of Science And Social Sciences To Young Children
• Professional Experience and Development of Portfolio

Experience

Candidates should have at least four (4) years teaching and research supervisory experience in tertiary institutions Experience with writing study materials for distance learners and the use of Open Educational Resources (OERs) will be an added advantage.

Competencies

• Must be computer literate and able to produce quality work within the set deadlines
• Ability to integrate ICTs into teaching and learning
• Should have knowledge of online teaching and learning
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data analysis software (SPSS and ATLAS.li)

Remuneration

BOU pays competitive rates commensurate with qualification, experience and responsibilities attached to the position
