HEAD OF SUBJECT – MUSIC
Head of Subject Music South Africa Teaching Jobs 2021 | Kearsney College, a leading independent boys’ high school located midway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, requires the services of a dynamic candidate to join our academic staff from the 01 April 2022.
The incumbent will be suitably qualified and have experience in:
- teaching IEB Subject Music from Grade 10 to 12;
- teaching Grade 8 and Grade 9 Music curriculum;
- teaching Music theory up to an advanced level;
- directing instrumental ensembles and stage productions;
- Music production skills would be advantageous;
- Playing and performing on an orchestral instrument would be advantageous.
As Head of Subject, it is essential to have excellent administration skills. The applicant must be aware of trends, current syllabus reforms and the latest teaching methods and assessment practices applicable to the effective running of the Department.
Performance dimensions critical to this position include innovation, maintaining excellence within the Music Department, as well as building positive relationships with students and peers. Successful use of technology in the classroom will be a distinct advantage.
