The certificate in Desktop Publishing is one year programme offered in two semesters at Botho University.

The students enrolled in this programme will study adobe Photoshop, adobe flash, entrepreneurship, adobe illustrator, adobe In design and adobe Dreamweaver. They shall apply appropriate technological (Adobe Photoshop, adobe illustrator, In design and Dreamweaver) platforms, trends and language to create visual exciting designs in creative industry. Also the training will expose students to knowledge of entrepreneurship to identify and start new business ventures, and adequately manage resources.

The programme will expose the students to practical knowledge of multimedia design techniques, technologies and applications, as they learn to use cutting-edge software, such as Adobe In Design, Adobe Photoshop, In design, Flash and Dream weaver to design and layout text and graphics for use in print and multimedia.

The students who graduate will be able to work in the various fields of multimedia industry as Desktop publisher, Multimedia Artist/Animator, Electronic-publisher specialist, Graphic designer, Web based Developer etc.

Admission Criteria:

Junior Secondary school leaving certificate such as JCE or equivalent. Mature Age entry criteria: Candidates above 20 years with at least 5 years of work experience, of which at least 2 years must be at Level 2 equivalent may be considered under mature entry criteria
