Reporting to the Sales & Operations Manager, the Diamond Technician is responsible for mapping and scanning of the stone on the galaxy machines, sorting, diamond handling and analysis of gemstones in accordance with laid down policies and procedures.

Effectiveness Areas:

• Plan & Map the stones on the advisor.
• Scan the stones on the Galaxy.
• Examine gems during processing to ensure accuracy of angles and positions of cuts or bores, using magnifying glasses, loupes.
• Assign polish, symmetry, and clarity grades to stones, according to established grading systems.
• Evaluate the quality of diamonds.
• Examine the physical characteristics of diamonds.
• Record operational or production data.
• Safety, health, and environmental compliance

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or equivalent qualification
• At least six (6) years in Diamond Sorting or Diamond manufacturing
