Applications are invited for the position of Finance Administrator.

FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR
ONE-YEAR FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT
Remuneration package: Market-related salary package

The position is responsible for providing excellent financial and administrative support to the organisation to effectively manage donor funds by ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions, successful completion of projects, and efficient and proper financial and administrative operations to meet legislative requirements.

  •   A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting or related field/s • At least three years’ experience of working in finance or accounting field • Sound knowledge of accounting practices and principles • Strong planning and record-keeping skills • Exposure in working with auditors • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong MS Excel skill and Pastel accounting • A proven record of integrity and ethical behaviour.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Accounts and reconciliations – Monitor expenditure against budget and report irregularities on donor funds; Reconcile monthly cashbooks for donor designated bank accounts; Generate and send invoices to donors as per contractual agreement; Assist with the compliance and submission of donor reports as and when required; Collaborate with project staff to ensure timely close out of agreements with donors and granteesProcess daily and monthly payments; Liaise with service providers and handle telephone queries on payments; Process employee expense claims and review rules for employee compliance; Prepare journals and ensure proper allocation of expenses in the general ledger
  • General administration – Maintain proper filing of documents and archive documents older than three years; Assist with facilitation of all audits and preparation of relevant records required for the audits; Monitor adherence to organisational policies and procedures; Perform any ad hoc duties as and when required.
