JOB PRESENTATION
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out of stock
- Assist purchasing officer place orders to replenish items as needed
- Track shipments and address any delays
- Oversee the storage of product, particularly of fragile items
- Evaluate suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals
- Coordinate regular inventory audits
- Ensure that purchases do not exceed budget
- Work in conjunction with all Heads of Department to ensure maximum profitability
- Maintain vendor and service provider relationships
- Remain acutely aware of market trends that could impact resource costs
- Analyse invoices to ensure correct products /services were received at the expected cost.
- Collaborate with Heads of Department to strategize ways to minimize waste
- Commit to maximizing efficiency at all levels without compromising quality
- Managing of Stock takes
- Co-ordinate the development of standard purchase specifications for various items
- Monitor the adherence to Company policies and regulations with regards to purchasing
- Secure competitive price quotations for all purchases
- Monitoring of Stock Variances with Heads of Department
- Monitor food and beverage stocks, storeroom security and storage conditions. Ensure the discrepancies arise out of physical verification of stocks properly dealt in the books of accounts on a regular basis
- Oversee and direct the purchasing/procurement team
Required Qualification & Experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Excel (especially in the pivot table and vlookups)
- Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities
- String Ethics and reliability
- Diploma /Degree from a reputable institute preferred
- Hospitality experience advantageous
- Any inventory management, accounting, purchasing or supply chain qualifications advantageous
