GirlCodeZA Scholarship South Africa 2023 – 2024
ABOUT THE COMPANY – GIRLCODEZA
GirlCodeZA Scholarship South Africa | GirlCodeZA is a Non-Profit Organisation that uses technology to empower women. GirlCodeZA believes that companies and products will ultimately become more successful if more women get involved in technology, development, design, and leadership.
GirlCodeZA has three main initiatives, namely GirlCoder club, Online Coding Bootcamp, and Hackathons.
The GirlCoder club is a national network collection of coding clubs led by volunteers. These clubs are open to high school females who want to build a solid foundation in coding as well as enhance their skills and knowledge.
The Online Coding Bootcamp or ‘GirlCoder Workshops’ is a 6 month, in-person, and hands-on Bootcamp programme aiming to teach girls how to become developers.
Lastly, the Hackathon is an annual event hosted in Women’s month with the focus being on getting young girls to renew, elevate, and spark an interest in coding. GirlCodeZA aims to bridge the gap in the lack of skills in technology and it believes it can be done by empowering females.
