Urban Brew Internship Programme 2023 – 2024

Urban Brew Internship Programme; Urban Brew Studies are committed to investing in the future of South Africa’s youth.  Thus they offer a 12-month internship program to talented young graduates. This internship may even lead to full-time employment, depending on the need within the company.  Interns will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience within the broadcasting industry and environment.

Young, able and willing candidates are invited to apply yearly for their internship program.  Urban Brew Studios is an independent production house.  They can produce short and long-form programming over a period of 24 hours.  They can make the magic happen on any television, getting the shows out there.  They do in-studio recordings, as well as outside broadcasting.

The company produces a variety of shows and platforms, such as DUMISA, 1Gospel, ED, Soweto TV and 1KZN.  They are constantly broadening their horizons and seek individuals who share their interests to become interns.  Urban Brew Studios started in 1985, delivering programming superiority with a deep pledge to the social, and artistic talents on offer within South Africa.  In 1994 the studio changed its name from INTV to Urban Brew Studios.

With the start of the year 2000, Urban Brew Studios became the very first, privately-owned production company, which offered live broadcasts.  These were done from their studios.  They can still be found in the same location on Harley Street.  It was known as the home of ‘Jamie Uys’.  The name reflects a unification of cultures and was chosen upon the emergence of a new nation united.

They used the colourful calabash as a symbol, representing a mixture of talents, productions, and people.  This is still their logo today.  Urban Brew Studios are part of Kagiso Media Limited and a key asset within the media industry.  They believe that ‘Nothing is Impossible’ if fired by the correct ideals in life.

The television industry is a tough business, but Urban Brew has managed to stay at the top.  They are not bound by the industry expectations, but rather set their own. They have never tried to compete with their opposition companies, yet they deliver high quality at affordable rates.  They also stand for hard work as nothing comes magically in life.  They offer a close family atmosphere with devotion to production.
