Mthashana TVET College Nsfas Application | The TVET Colleges Bursary Scheme of the Department of Higher Education and Training has been set up by the Department of Higher Education Training to assist students who have the potential to excel at NC(V) and Collect an application form when registering for an NC(V) or Report 191 program from the relevant campus.
Bursaries will be awarded within the limits of the funds allocated to the College by the Department of Higher Education based on financial need and academic performance.

Nsfas Open Date
Nsfas Online Application Opens 1 September and closes November 302022.
HOW TO APPLY:
- Collect an application form from the relevant campus when
registering for a NC(V) or Report 191 program. - Complete the form and return it to the campus along with
all of the required documentation - Ensure that you submit your form before the closing date
- Qualifying applicants will then be submitted to the
Mthashana College Bursary Committee for consideration.
Bursaries will be awarded based on financial need and
academic performance within the confines of the funds
allocated to the College by the Department of Higher
Education and Training.
- 4 Certified copies of student ID
- 2 Certified copies of the parent’s / guardian’s ID or death certificates
- 1 Certified copy of ID/ Birth Certificate for each dependent in the house
- 1 Certified copy of parent’s / guardian’s latest payslip, grant slip or affidavit as proof of income
- 1 Certified copy of the highest qualification
- 1 Proof of residence
- An application or motivational letter was written by an applicant applying for a bursary

Qualification Criteria
- Only South African citizens are eligible for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) bursary scheme;
- A student must be registered or intending to register to study at a TVET college
- Applicants will qualify for funding if they fall within the maximum threshold of up to R350,000 of combined gross family income per annum;
- Returning students (studied prior 2018) will qualify if they fall within the maximum threshold of up to R122,000 of combined gross family income per annum
- Accommodation in an urban area
- Accommodation in a peri-urban area
- Accommodation in a rural area
- Transport (if you reside up to 40 km from the institution)
- Incidental/personal care allowance
- Registration
- Tuition

-You may also choose to visit any Buffalo City TVET College Campus – Student Support Service for assistance.
-Please ensure that you have the correct documents (certified not older than 3 months) in electronic format available:
- Your South African ID or a birth certificate( if you do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card)
- ID of parents and/or guardian or death certificate where applicable.
– Pay advice/letter of employment/ pension advice stating income of parents and/or guardian (SASSA slips are not
required and SASSA should not be included as household income
-Please ensure that you download the CONSENT FORM and that it is completed by your parent/s and or guardian – this
