Sheffield Hallam University

In 2014, BAC partnered with Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), a UK based institution. Sheffield Hallam University has been in existence since 1843. SHU is described as one of the UK’s most progressive and innovative universities with a vibrant and diverse student population of over 4,000 international students from more than 100 countries. Sheffield Business School has a Palm 3 Ranking with the University ranked number 65 on the UK League in 2013. By partnering with SHU, BAC has created value through the prominent international qualifications. ThIs partnership has brought international perspective to our programmes, thereby enhancing the curriculum offerings and opportunities for expanding our research portfolio.

Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB)

Botswana Accountancy College with the support of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) has developed a qualification (Public Sector Procurement and Tender Management), which  provides professionals within the procurement function in the public sector with the skills to effectively manage the function within their organisations. The primary mandate of PPADB is to adjudicate and award tenders for Central Government and any other institutions specified under the Act for the delivery of works, services and supplies related services. This is coupled with the registration and grading of contractors who so wish to do business with government.

The Public Sector Procurement and Tender Management programme is designed to enhance skills in delivering the objectives of the PPAD Act. The graduates of this programme will be able to effectively, efficiently and economically carry out their duties in their respective organisation and/or government department objectives.

Botswana Qualifications Authority

Botswana Qualifications Authority is a tertiary education regulatory body whose mandate is:

  • To provide for and maintain the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCQF).
  • To coordinate the education, training and skills development quality assurance system.

Ministry of Education and Skills Development

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development is the overall regulator of formal education in the Republic of Botswana through policy development and monitoring.

Botswana Accountancy College adheres to all regulations set by the ministry. The college has also over the years been able to enjoy the relationship between the two institutions through the Department of Tertiary Education Funding. The department provides sponsorship to over 90% of student admitted at BAC. The Sponsorship is in the form of tuition, books and living allowances.

Local Enterprise Authority (LEA)

In 2014, Botswana Accountancy College (BAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in an effort to provide business solutions to clients who are currently being incubated by LEA. The memorandum of understanding is aimed at developing future business leaders by working with key industry players, such as LEA, to provide a base of mentorship and support. Joining forces with LEA provided a mutually beneficial platform in which our students continue to benefit from acquiring the necessary skills to succeed outside the classroom.
