Central Johannesburg TVET College Nsfas Application

NSFAS is an aid South African government that supports students financially by providing financial aid to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education. It is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

NSFAS is a state entity reporting to the Department of Higher Education and Training. NSFAS provides financial assistance in the form of a study bursary to qualifying students who wish to study or are already studying at TVET colleges and public universities.

Nsfas Online Application Opens on 1 September and closes on November 302022.

Who qualifies for NSFAS?

1. Be a  South African citizen.
2. Be registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme
3. Persons in need of financial support.
4. Academically good students who need financial support.

The following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;

• Original copies of Identity Documents/Birth Certificate
• Original Academic Results Latest
• A Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
• A Proof death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
• Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)

Apply; at www.nsfas.org.za and log into your myNSFAS account

Steps to follow;

Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab

Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account

Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and answer the questions on the screen

Step 4: Upload the required supporting documents then click on ‘submit

You will need the following to complete your NSFAS application: 

• Valid cellphone number and email address
• Copy of an Identity Document or birth certificate
• Valid Identity Document copies of parents, guardians,s or spouse
• Proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
• Parents, guardian, or spouse’s proof of income
• If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required
• Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form, click here to download
• An applicant who is recognized as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
