Western TVET College Nsfas Application

National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a state entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training. NSFAS provides financial assistance in the form of a study bursary to qualifying students who wish to study or are already studying at TVET colleges and public universities.

Nsfas Online Application Opens on 1 September and closes on November 302022.

Western TVET College Nsfas Allowances for funded Applicants:

• Food
• Accommodation or transport
• Personal care      

In order to be a qualified NSFAS Applicant;

1. Be a South African citizen.
2. You need to be enrolled or intend to enroll for the NC (V) programs at any of the 50 public FET colleges in South Africa.
3. Be in need of financial assistance.
4. Be able to demonstrate potential for academic success.
5. SASSA grant recipients or
6. Your combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year or
7. A person with a disability with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year or

To apply for the NSFAS bursary, the following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;

• Identity Document/Birth Certificate
• Latest Academic Results
• Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
• Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
• Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)

Who qualifies for NSFAS?

1. Be a  South African citizen.
2. Be registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme
3. Persons in need of financial support.
4. Academically good students who need financial support.

The following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;

• Original copies of Identity Documents/Birth Certificate
• Original Academic Results Latest
• A Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
• A Proof death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
• Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)

How to Apply

Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab

Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account

Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and answer the questions on the screen

Step 4: Upload the required supporting documents then click on ‘submit
